Halloween Hapenings 2011!

I wanted to get as much use out of the costumes as I could so we did several events this year. Lucas was Woolverine because he liked the claws for the costume and Marcus chose to be a lion like Lucas was last year.

The boys dressed up at music class.

At the Fort Worth Zoo for the ZOO BOO.

I thought this was a cool picture look carefully at the live lion in the background. When we were there the lion actually started roaring really loud and everyone rushed to see it. I have often thought it is funny how we teach all our "city" kids to associate the animals with the sounds they make but they rarely get to her the animal sounds unless it is a dog or a cat. Even at petting zoos I don't remember hearing a sheep BAAA!

Decorating pumpkins at the ZOO BOO. It is funny how boys want to use the marker for about 30 seconds but the girls can spend 10 minutes coloring/decorating something.

I really wanted to do something Halloween night so we joined Anna and Haven at a church festival. Aren't the cousins precious. Anna was a butterfly and Haven was a caterpillar.

Another great smile from Lucas (I mean Wolverine).

Anna insisted on holding Marcus' hand. It was really sweet. When it got dark Giam took the boys around our block to trick or treat and they got some candy. It was just enough. We had a dozen or so groups come by our house. I know Halloween gets a bad rap but I enjoy the people coming out. It gives a sense of community even if you live in a neighborhood that is not packed with young families.

Soccer update. Lucas really blossomed in his last 2 games and started running after the ball! He was one of the fastest kids on the field. This is him with his first medal. I don't think he loved soccer but when I asked if he had fun he said "yes". That is all that I wanted for this age :)

Look closely that is Lucas in the gray hoody running for the ball.
