Around the house end of Spring 2012

Just a catch up post and extra pictures of my sweet boys.  I can't say my children will play for an hour with something or just love one particular toy.  I have been fortunate that their Thomas the Train collection will consistently keep their attention over the course of time.  There are still fights over trains, pleas for Mommy to build the track when I want them to try, and moments of frustration when the bridge won't work out where they want it to.  In these pictures they have added towers and bridges to the track with their blocks and happily entertained themselves for at least 20 min ;)

I usually forget to post pictures of cuts and scrapes but we have had a few and they are part of the childhood memories I want to preserve for the boys on this blog so here it goes.  Lucas had a constant cough for over a week and I kept thinking it would go away just a cold or allergies.  Finally on Saturday he woke up with this ugly rash not raised just flat and red all over his body.  One long trip to urgent care with and inaccurate diagnosis and one trip to the pediatrician on Monday we got the diagnosis of walking pneumonia.  After a few days of a Z-pack his cough was gone.

My attempt as a non-crafty person to encourage art/crafts for my kids.  Here paint something, glue something, no direction just go for it.

Lucas shows my level of organization and glues a very straight line of puff balls.
Marcus shows my level of artistic skills and focus' on a large black smudge.

Our little container garden bore fruit!  We got a beautiful basil plant which I have gotten herbs from a half dozen times and a few tomatoes so far.  My hope was the boys would see the beginning of how a tomato grows and the final product and actually like to eat them.  Didn't happen.  I thought the tomatoes were delicious.
