On October 23, 2013 Lucas turned the big 6 years old! We celebrated him all week. The weekend before his birthday which was on a Wednesday we went down the road to Jelly Stone Park in Burleson Texas and stayed 2 nights in an RV Camper. Diego came too. Jelly Stone has fun activities all year but they had a few special things going on before Halloween.
Lucas' six year old stats:
Weight: 46 lbs 8 oz, 56%
Heights: 47 in, 77%
Blood pressure: 100/68
Vision: Left eye 20/25, Right eye 20/25
Overall he is very healthy and growing well.
Boys did a fun tractor pull train ride. You could borrow bikes and fishing poles from the park. We did both.
Of course the boys loved the arcade. They each got a $5 game card with their wrist bands.
Lucas tried to play any game you could win tickets at. Marucs loved this motorcycle ride. I think I'm going to be in trouble when he is older.
Diego loved the games too.
We spent most of the weekend outside. The boys had a blast at the yard of bounce houses, climbing the rock wall, and the play ground.
Each boy took a turn climbing the inflatable rock wall and made it to the top. Here is Marcus.
Diego climbing.
Lucas at the very top then rappelling down.
Saturday night they got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and do some early trick or treating. We also went on a "Haunted Hay Ride" that night.
I made Lucas a brownie cake that we had in the RV. These pictures remind me of my brother's (Uncle Michael's) 3rd birthday we celebrated in a RV in east Texas. Every boy should celebrate a birthday in an RV!

Of course we had to do a campfire and Smores!
This is how I spent a lot of the day with sweet Thomas in the Ergo zipped up to keep warm.
You can see his little hat peaking out. The weather was beautiful sunny, and bright, with just a little nip in the air when the wind blew.
Play ground fun.
Fishing! we didn't catch anything but it was fun to try. Poor Marcus got a hook in his finger. He learned the hard way how the handle a fishing pole.
Since we went to Jelly Stone and didn't have a party I took doughnuts up to Lucas' school on Wednesday his real birthday. He smiled ear to ear as his class sang to him! He's not too embarrassed by me yet :)
Presents at home from us on his real birthday. He got a flying alien sphere, the Human Body Encyclopedia book for kids (he loved it from the library and wanted one of his own), and an airplane Lego kit.
The night of October 23 we met Gigi and the Bruces at Lucas' favorite restaurant In and Out. He ate 2 whole burgers! Gigi gave him a Snoopy Snow cone kit which wanted very badly.
He was so happy!
Family picture at In and Out.
Afterwards we came back to our house for some ice cream pie that I made.
Precious Lucas at six years old you have really blossomed in a lot of ways. You love to draw and you phonetically write sentences and create short books on your own. You are kind of obsessed with money, you love to count it, see how much things are and think about how to make money. You say you want to sell the books you create for $5 or $10. I hope you keep an entrepreneurial spirit but learn to be a giver also. You seem really good at math and are almost done with a first grade math book we work on at home. You have finished all the BOB books we have even the first grade one. We are moving on to easy readers. You are rising to the challenge of Spanish Immersion Kindergarten. It is really neat to see your name things in Spanish, count to 109 in Spanish, and ask how to say things. Your young brain is really at work. You love playing with Marcus and have fun building house, forts, bowling alleys whatever. You also fight with Marcus but that is what siblings and especially brothers are suppose to do. You are sweet to Thomas and say he is very cute but you know you can't really play with him yet. You want Mommy or Daddy to walk you into school everyday and do not want to be dropped off. Once your at school your teacher says you are all smiles. You really like PE, music, and art. Coincidentally the classes taught in English. You sleep well in your own bed most nights. You are still a great bike rider and runner. I see competitiveness in you and a drive to complete things well. I hope you keep that. I am sooooo thankful for you and that you love your family and your brothers. I love seeing your curiosity, and your interest in learning. You recently found some magnets and went around the whole house identifying things that were metal and not metal. You also quickly learned about the magnetic poles and opposing forces of magnets. So smart. You are affectionate with me but not everyone. A hug from Lucas is a true privileged. We love you so our big boy!
