Our first camping trip of the Spring we hope to squeeze in a couple more. We went to Cedar Hill State Park with Joe Pool Lake in it. It was only ~45 min from our house which is great. The boys are really into bugs right now. Finding them, picking them up. Here is Lucas with a caterpillar.
Both boys found caterpillars.
We rented a kayak for an hour and went around a cove in the lake. Marcus fell asleep it was so relaxing.
The lake was nice but it just can't compare to the lakes around the hill country. The views aren't as nice and the water seems dirtier.
Walking on the trails. It was really nice to be outdoors in the woods.
There were beautiful patches of bluebonnets. I forgot the big camera and only had my phone for pictures. Marcus wasn't too happy about taking pictures at this time. Best we got.

I have to say camping was great because the distractions were limited. No computers, no chores, no TV, no errands to run. When the boys wanted to ride bikes Sunday morning at 8:30 I said "OK". Instead of let me do this and that first and then we will, which I often say. We really needed this quiet family time.
