I thought a lot about Easter this year and how I want my children to remember celebrating it. To me it is an even more special time than Christmas because of the meaning behind it. Jesus died after living a sinless life so that we could be forgiven for our sins. Wow! That is something to celebrate each year. To help a 4 and a 2 year old see the importance of this we made Resurrection Rolls and talked about how Jesus was buried then rose again. After you cook the rolls you open the inside and see that what was placed inside is gone. They liked it and it was right on their level. I also bought Resurrection Eggs which is like an advent calendar before Easter telling a small part of the Bible story leading up to Easter. Sorry no pics. Lucas really listened well to the story and Marcus like playing with the items in the eggs. I plan to bring them out each year for a little lesson.
The boys got some new Lego sets and some extra chocolate in their Easter baskets.
Same outfits as last year. They still fit and hey we reuse and recycle.
We hosted and Easter lunch at out house this year. We had a big turn out, Uncle Michael, Helen (w/ Jerry Anne), Tortia, GiGi, Aunt Laura, Uncle Ari, Diego, Juan, Aunt Kelli, Uncle Brad, Anna, and Haven. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.
We snuck in a Easter egg hunt right before/as it started to rain. The kids did great.
It was so nice to spend time with our families.
