Friday September 14-Tuesday September 25 we took a quick family vacation to Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, Texas. We visited the Lexington Navy Ship and the Texas State Aquarium while in Corpus and got some beach time in Port A.
On the flight deck. It is amazing they can land planes on ships.
Lucas took this cute picture of Marcus laying on Giam's lap at lunch. He was getting tired. No nap that day.
We watched 2 short 3D movies about airplanes on the Lexington. The boys picked these styrofoam model airplanes as souvenirs. They cost $2 and the boys loved them and played with them the whole trip.
The aquarium. They are at great ages for looking at every fish, being interested, and being excited about what they see.
Under water viewing of the dolphin show. Lucas took these pictures.
Waiting to feed the stingrays.
The boys didn't want to give the fish to the stingrays so they just watched Giam and me. The stingrays mouths feel very slimy and weird under water.
View of the Lexington from the Aquarium.
Sea turtles.
An American Bald Eagle.
The first night at the condo in Port A, E.T. was on so we let the boys watch part of it. They thought it was pretty cool and had lots of questions about aliens. It was a blast from the past for me. Something fun from my childhood to share with them. 80's movies were so different from today's movies. The actors looked like real people not perfect.
Doesn't it look like Florida and not Texas? The water was really clear and the sand was really clean. The first time the boys were in the waves their faces lit up they were so impressed. I loved seeing it. We bought them some little boogie boards which Lucas tried out but Marcus wasn't to interested in.
Marcus really like digging in the sand. Giam and the boys made a little castle with a pool in the middle.
We played a little soccer on the beach.
The boys liked the beach about the first day and a half but then they asked to just be able to swim in the condo pool for the rest of the time. No pictures of that but they both swam great even in the 7 feet deep with a little help.
The ping pong table at the condo. A great way to end the night. Fun little trip. Hope we can do it again!
