We spent a beautiful Monday at Mainstay Farm south of Fort Worth and took some pictures in their pumpkin patch. I didn't have my camera but Aunt Kelli snapped a few shots for us. We took a hay ride, slid down a large slide on a burlap sack, and jumped on a big bounce pillow. It was a fun day and made me want to move out to the country. I'm glad Fall is here and I know we will be enjoying a lot of outdoor activities!
I thought it would be fun to sign both boys up for soccer this year. They can play on the same team since the YMCA has a 3 and 4 year old league. Well both of them were really excited at first. Marcus slept in his soccer cleats the first night we bought them! These are some pictures from their first game.
I love this picture of them with their feet on the ball and arms around each other!
Lucas did a 180' from last year. I have decided it is something about the age being 4 instead of 3. Last year Lucas wasn't to interested in being on the field and we had to bribe him to participate. This year he is at the center of the pack running and scoring. By now they have had 3 games and he has made a 2 goals. Lucas is #5 and Marcus is #1.
I don't know where Marcus' enthusiasm for his cleats went because he now says "I don't like soccer, I don't want to play." and stands around part of the game not wanting to follow the ball. I really think it is being 3. He is probably the youngest on the team. I am glad he is getting this experience with his brother. They won't be able to be on the same team in the future. We keep telling him he has to finish the season because he is part of a team. I think that is a good lesson even at this age.
At the end of the game all the kids love walking through the bridge and giving high fives.
We don't really have a "first day of school" since I work year round and the boys have been in "school" since they could sit up by themselves. I decided to take some pictures around the first day with their new backpacks for memories sake. I got them new UT backpacks. They seem to like them. It's the team we support even if we didn't go there. We'd love the boys to choose UT down the road.
Aren't they sweet together? I hope they stay close always.
