Right before Thanksgiving I took the boys on a little week day road trip to Marble Falls to see Uncle Michael's family. Daddy had to work so we headed out on our own. First stop was Longhorn Caverns. It was a beautiful day for a little underground tour.
The bats that sleep all day and venture out at night for food. They are super tiny.
The tour guide gave a lot of history which I appreciated but the boys weren't really paying attention. The Long Horn Caverns were once the home of Native American tribes and it was also a speakeasy in the days of prohibition.
Next stop Uncle Michael's. We hadn't seen baby Jeri Anne since she was first born!
Almost all Uncle Michael's sweet family (big sister Jenna was a school).
Jeri Anne had grown and was much more alert, moving on the ground, and babbling away! Precious girl :)
Poor uncle Michael was sick, had a bit of a stomach bug but he was still able to do some wrestling with the boys which they loved.
Before Thanksgiving we participated in our 2nd Turkey Trot in Fort Worth. Lucas and Giam ran the 1K. Then Giam ran the 5K.

The Bruce's ran the 5k as a family.
Gigi was there to cheer everyone on.
Giam running at full force!
Our Thanksgiving was quiet this year celebrating with Tortia at our house. I forgot to take pictures. We enjoyed steak instead of turkey and a beautiful day outside.
I did take pictures of this super easy Pinterest activity we did before Thanksgiving. Making pilgrim hats out of store bought cookies and Reese's Peanut butter cups.
The boys enjoyed it but wanted to eat more of the icing and cookies than assemble them. I had to watch them ;)
The weekend after Thanksgiving Cousin Diego came down to spend 2 nights with us. The boys and him were crazy together but I think they had a lot of fun. That Saturday we went to the Fort Worth Children's Museum. A great way to entertain them for hours. Then we had a pizza picnic lunch in the park and took a train ride.
Cattle ride game at the museum.Lucas laying on a bed of nails.
They all tried this spinning thing.
Digging in the dinosaur bone pit. Perfect day for 3 little boys.
The weekend of December 1 we headed out to Mainstay Farms to chop down a Christmas tree and have a fun day. "Aunt" Spring was able to join us. We saw a little donkey. Marcus tried to feed him. Lucas was a little hesitant due to Donkey gate 10/23/12 on his birthday. Remember his finger bite.
They have a really long slide you go down on an old sack. Kids love it. It's a little hard on adults behinds.
Mainstay Farm lets you do all the fun activities just for the cost of a tree so you can easily spend a day there. Lucas' favorite were these "go-cart" bikes you peddled around a track. We spent the most time there.
Even I took a turn.
Spring and I. We have so few pictures. I wanted to make sure I took one.
Some of the fun/unique activities at the farm that really help little boys get a lot of energy out. Huge teeter totter, spider web, maze, and balance beam maze.
Finally after all day playing we walked down to the tree farm. It was pretty slim pickings but we did find a tree. Daddy cut it down and the boys and "Aunt" Spring all helped a little.
A family picture at the farm. What a fun day!
The next day the boys and I decorated the tree while Giam put up out door Christmas decorations. I really think of the tree as being for the boys so I let them put the ornaments where ever they can and add what ever they want. To me it always turns out perfect.
Side note I want to remember: I am updating this blog on December 16, 15 days after bringing the tree home and boy does this tree stink! The ones you can grow in North Texas aren't the good smelling really full ones but this is bad. I don't know if it is the water or what. We will keep it till December 26 but just have to light a lot of candles!
